Information processing
Short technology cycles and rapid advancements of electronic businesses shape the energy economy as well as connected markets (e.g. banks, realty economy, water industry). In the face of a restructuring of the economical and political frameworks, more and more companies have to address how they can reorganise processes and preserve and advance efficiency in an environment of growing competition. The company’s market experience, the willingness to innovate as well as a more and more important customer orientation are the key factors of success. In this regard, IT-competence is of great significance. Accordingly, the requirements are diverse and the realisation can be equally comprehensive and very expensive. However, a perfect protection cannot be guaranteed.
For several years outsourcing has been the centre of attention with regards to an efficient economic activity, especially in the sector of information processing. Many companies may ask themselves whether it is more effective and efficient to provide for this service internally or to outsource the task to a service provider. A partial or selective outsourcing of sub-processes might be a solution, as well. A further option to raise efficiency within the company is the establishment of shared service centres that can be involved into the restructuring process of the complete company.
